Honeymoon Destinations in the US
By By Ellenina Gaston : The Wedding Gazette

Are financial or time constraints putting limits on your travel plans? You don't have to give up hope of having a romantic honeymoon. There are dozens of terrific destinations in the continental U.S. from California to Florida. Consider the following five getaways.

Northern California
One of the most romantic cities in the world; San Francisco offers rolling hills and an epic view of the Pacific. Home to some of the most recognizable landmarks in the world this city is a great place for a more urban honeymoon. You can ride the famous cable cars or visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Knob Hill, Coit Tower, Pan-Pacific Park, Alcatraz Island, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf, to name just a few. Dining in San Francisco is outstanding and never dull considering the range of cuisine available inspired by the diverse population of this glorious city.

Southern California
For couples with stars in their eyes and Hollywood on their minds, there's no better honeymoon spot than Los Angeles. You're sure to have wonderful weather (except for the month of June when things get a little hazy) and there are numerous activities to keep you busy. From celebrity watching at the beach in Malibu, dining at an "in" spot like celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's original Spago restaurant, or taking a tour of Universal Studios, Southern California can be just the ticket for a romantic, fun-filled honeymoon.

New Orleans
The essence of New Orleans is found in its exotic blend of French, Spanish, Caribbean and Acadian cultures. Enjoy Cafˇ Du Monde in the morning for people watching, strong coffee, and their famous biegnets (fried French pastries). Then spend the afternoon taking in the historic buildings of Jackson Square and the mansions of the Garden District. An evening wouldn't be complete without a little revelry on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. Famous for its raucous Mardi Gras celebrations in the Spring, you might want to avoid a honeymoon that time of year unless you like things really wild.

Florida
For a more laid back trip you may prefer the sun, sea and nightlife of Southern Florida. Miami, and its South Beach is the perfect place to sun and swim or enjoy the sidewalk cafes and stroll the streets of South Beach's Art Deco District. At night you can sample the outstanding Caribbean and Cuban-inspired cuisine and dance until dawn at any of the dozens of nightclubs in this sizzling city.

Las Vegas
Even if you don't elope, this flamboyant city is the perfect honeymoon destination for the couple that wants bright lights and non-stop adventure. A slew of extravagant new resorts, including the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Paris, Luxor, and New York, New York have changed the face of Vegas. But at its heart, it's still a city that revolves around entertainment and gambling. Luckily, after a late night you can sleep in the sun by your hotel pool or shop the top designer boutiques. And if you can't afford to splurge, there is always a $1.99 all you can eat buffet somewhere.
